On behalf of our BC based client, Synergy HR is seeking a detail oriented, hard-working and reliable team memberto fill the role of Payroll & HR Coordinator in Vancouver.

You will be accountable for:

  • Complete payroll processing of salaried employees and support payroll admin for hourly union employees.
  • Adhere to all payroll procedures and processes and ensure compliance to legislations such as Employment Standards, Canada Revenue Agency and Income Tax Act & Regulations.
  • Prepare, coordinate and maintain employee documentation.
  • Process WorkSafe BC & EHT payments.
  • Coordinate employee claims: WorkSafe BC, short-term disability & long-term disability.
  • Recruitment support including job postings, setting up interviews, job offer packages, maintaining resume database and working with external recruiters.
  • Coordinate staff training initiatives.
  • Employee onboarding & offboarding and associated paperwork.
  • Coordinate performance evaluations for managers and long service awards and gifts.

To qualify for this role, you must have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a full-cycle payroll position, additional HR experience preferred. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is required.
  • Must be proficient in computer applications i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook ; Timberline an asset.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to multitask, problem solve and make sound decisions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team driving towards achieving team goals and objectives.
  • Willing to work extra hours as needed.
